The Journal of PHYSIOLOGICAL ANTHROPOLOGY(JPA) is an official journal of
the Japan Society of Physiological Anthropology (JSPA). The aim of JPA
is to cover a broad range of studies on humans who live in modern society.
Today's highly technological environment has developed rapidly, given the
time scale of human history, and presents many challenges to the intrinsic
physical resources of human kind. It is suggested that rapid advances in
science and technology are having a profound effect on the human community,
not only in terms of lifestyle and culture, but also on the physiological
capabilities of the human body.
Therefore, JPA attempts to present research on humans in modern society,
evaluating humankind mainly from a physiological perspective, in an effort
to create a truly healthy and comfortable living environment.
JPA is produced six times a year. The journal uses anonymous peer review
in evaluating manuscripts for publication. Reviewers are members of JSPA
and a large group of external experts. Time from receipt of initial submisstion
to publication takes an about 6 months. All articles conform to normal ethical standards.
JPA is registered with many academic databases, like BIOSIS, MEDLINE, PubMed,
Ergonomics Abstract, JICST, J-Stage, etc. The full text of all articles
in JPA can be accessed without a fee at J-Stage, which links to PubMed
